About Me
My name is Alex Welch, and I am a Senior in high school at West Sound Academy in Poulsbo, WA. I am in an IB Theatre class at the Standard level, and this is my website to show my projects and ideas. I enjoy reading and watching Greek tragedies and any style of comedy, watching TV, reading, and playing video games.
My Idea of the Origin of Theatre

I believe that the origin of theatre is a combination of the theory of ritual and the theory of spontaneous generation. These make sense to me because I believe that all stories can be traced back to a few "original" stories, so each retelling is a modified 'ritual' of the original. The style and the technique of the actors is spontaneous generation, because each style can be created on a whim, or spontaneously.
